• check if the Java Virtual Machine (JVM) is switched on and applets are enabled :
  IE: Tools/Internet Options/Advanced
• Chack if you have JVM installed.

If not, you can download it directly from Sun, my applet runs better on Sun VM than on MS one.
You can see at Microsof of course. You must know, that Bill doesn't like Sun and Java is not his toy .
